Clothing Care

Tips on how to care & clean your VFABasia T-shirt:

  1. Wash with similar colours
  2. Wash in cold to warm water but NOT HOT WATER, because it can cause shrinkage
  3. Wash & dry inside out
  4. Use the right amount of detergent.  Ensure you rinse well.
  5. Use fabric softener to avoid wrinkles
  6. Do not tumble dry
  7. Iron on reverse side of T-shirt.  DO NOT iron on the print!!!
  8. Treat stains immediately, then follow the rest of the care instructions, listed above.

Why wash & dry inside out?

We recommend that you wash your T-shirts turned 'inside out', because unavoidable abrasion happens on the inner side of the t-shirt, while the visual outside is less affected.  This reduces the risk of unwanted fuzziness and pilling of natural cotton.

Also dry T-shirts inside out, as potential fading happens on the inner side of the garment while leaving the outer surface less affected.

Do I need to iron?

Cotton is more or less prone to wrinkles and creases. However, by handling your T-Shirts correctly when taking them out of the washing machine and/or clothes line, creasing can be minimised. You should give each garment a gentle stretch or shake to get them back into shape.

Take extra care around the neckline and shoulders: you should not stretch them too much here as you don’t want the T-Shirt to lose its shape.

If a T-Shirt does need ironing, it is best to refer to the garment care label to understand exactly what temperature setting is safe to use.

When ironing your T-Shirt, we recommend that you iron on the reverse side and use the steam function on your iron. Giving cotton fabrics some moisture before ironing will make its fibres smoother and the garment will have fewer creases.  DO NOT IRON ON THE PRINT! as this will damage the printed section of the T-shirt.

Why do I need to treat stains immediately?

When removing a stain on a specific spot of your T-Shirt, the first and most important rule is to treat the stain immediately. Natural materials like cotton tend to absorb liquids (such as red wine or tomato sauce), and therefore stain easily, so the faster you remove the stain the easier it is to get it out of the fabric entirely.

Unfortunately, there is no universal detergent or stain removal product that is ideal to eliminate all kinds of substances. Note, the more effective a stain remover works, the harsher it is on the colour of a garment. As an initial step, we recommend that you rinse the stain with warm water and use a mild detergent or soap.

For persistent stains, you can use a commercial stain remover, but avoid stain solutions with bleach for coloured cotton garments. The bleach might remove the colour from the fabric and leave a light mark.

Tips on how to care & clean your VFABasia face mask:

  1. Your face mask should be washed before use.
  2. You may wash it with your regular machine-wash laundry, using hot water - wash with similar colours OR
You may hand wash your mask, using hot, soapy water. Scrub the mask for at least 30 seconds before rinsing & drying.
  3. After washing, you may tumble dry or air dry your face mask.
  4. Consider using a non-scented laundry detergent if you are sensitive to perfumes so it is easier to wear the mask.
  5. Store clean masks in a clean place when you are not using them.
